Many hobbyists and professional editors are making the switch to Sony's superb Vegas editing software for the PC or have upgraded from a previous version and are discovering first hand why so many Vegas users are shouting its praises. Vegas has the unique combination of being both very powerful and also very easy to use, but as with any non-linear editing software, new users need a guide to get through the first turns of the learning curve. In Vegas Video Editing, Gary Kleiner, a videographer for more than 25 years, not only takes viewers through the basic video editing techniques of Vegas, but serves up many tips and shortcuts that even the experienced Vegas editor will consider invaluable. The video is based on Vegas 4.0, but much still applies to earlier versions.

I'd rent/buy any other Vegas DVD before this one. I bought these and the production is terrible and the presenter is very slow speaking. It's like you want to reach into the screen and lower his dose of Valium or something. I fell asleep twice and finally gave up. The information isn't terrible, but there are much better Vegas instructors out there. Sony has certified trainers, and this isn't one of them. I can see why.
I have to disagree with the other reviewer, I am a member of a Vegas Video editors group that meets monthly and I have watched this video set and also the Vasst set as well.
Of all the Vegas video instruction, I have to give the edge to this set, I think it is easy to understand, yet every time I watch it I learn something. I am sorry the other reviewer didn't enjoy it, but this gets my highest recommendation and being familiar with the competition is just a scosh better.
I didn't think the training was terrible either, but it wasn't the top-notch training I've seen from others. I decided to not buy this particular training when I became aware of Mr. Kleiner's business dealings. A simple Google search makes this pretty apparent. It's a sad affair that he has the gumption to hold his head up, really. Had I done what he did, I'd likely crawl in a hole and hope everyone forgets me.
At first I thought "it couldn't be this easy" but it is! Thank you for a great service
