Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain

...with Betty Edwards

Drawing how-to video: Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain by Betty Edwards 5_bulb Review this video!

The video is based on Betty's best-selling book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, so the methods are a culmination of her more than twenty years of research and teaching experience, during which she has helped literally hundreds of thousands of individuals learn to draw. The video lessons are designed to be used in conjunction with the tools and materials in Dr. Edwards' Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain Workshop Kit, but the video will also work effectively as a stand-alone learning guide. The lessons are designed to give you success at every step of the way. Dr. Edwards guides you through the systematic process of learning to draw with her easy-to-understand explantions and visual demonstrations.

This video is appropriate for adults and children over the age of 12.

Betty Edwards takes you through her seven lessons for drawing. There is some use of her drawing aids for which you could easily find substitutions. Children could also easily relate to her presentation. Great for beginners.

I've had the book for more than ten years and never got more than half way through. The video was a wonderful way to accomplish a very dated goal (completing Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain). The author and developer of this method hosts and teaches on the video. It was like being able to attend one of her workshops, with the added advantage of doing it in my own workspace. As an artist and an illustration teacher, I gained many valuable tools to create and instruct. Yahoo!

This is by far, one of the best instructional videos on drawing and art I have ever watched. If you have ever wanted to learn how to truly draw what you see, this is the video for you. If you start out before this video not knowing how to draw a circle, by the end of it you will be abe to truly amaze yourself with what you are capable of just by learning what is taught. Out of a scale of 1-100, I am going to give this video a beyond perfect, I will give it 110.

I've been a fan of Betty Edwards and her teaching methods for years. I've bought her books for myself and as gifts and was not surprised that her video is also exceptional. I highly recommend it!

Loved it. Anything Betty Edwards does is always first class. She always explains things in a very easy to understand way. I have her books and have read them too. She is an excellent teacher.

I loved this DVD. It is very well done. It is amazing what I learned as I went through each of the exercises. It is very well done. Highly recommended. I am seeing things differently now too. This takes you into a whole new world that lets you experience what an artist experiences. Great!

I was blown away with this video. I had purchased the book but seeing examples of how each exercise should be done clarified a lot for me. I would highly recommend it.

Contains great information, but the format and pace are painfully slow. Get the book....

I actually felt as though I was part of a class, excellent instructions, clear and understandable. I will have to rent again and may take days off from work to be able to get $$'s worth out of the short week to have the dvd ( maybe I just need to buy the thing:). This was my second rental from the company, first one good, this one great!!!

I purchased Betty Edward's book several years ago after taking a refresher drawing class in which the instructor used some of her concepts. As a "right brain" thinker, I found it to be very helpful. I am now a volunteer art teacher for a small private school and rented the video to get some pointers for teaching the key concepts contained in the book. Edwards is very concise, covers the topics thoroughly and uses great examples of her own work, student work and set ups. Professionally produced and certainly worth viewing, especially if you have access to her book. Katy

I loved it so much I'm thinking of buying it. Just one thought..you will need certain supplies to take this course and it is a course she is teaching.

As an abject beginner who has the book, renting and viewing the material was exceptionally helpful. I have already recommended your service to many friends who now like me even more. I'm impressed with what you offer, greatly impressed.

Art DVDs do take some time to digest and understand, even practice to see if I've got it right.

Thank you for being in business. I so appreciate what you offer.

This DVD makes use of a set of items that is sold on Bettty Edwards's Website. Most of them, like pencils, are no problem to come up with, but a few of them, like the device for measuring angles, will be a little more trouble to come up with or make. This shouldn't be enough of a hindrance to deter anyone from renting the DVD, though. Like her book of the same title, it's an excellent introduction to drawing.

I wanted to preview this to see if I should buy it to show my high school students. I am glad I got a chance to look at it. Betty Edwards technique is interesting and I think I would see some good results from beginners. I liked using SmartFlix. Thank you.
