Learn to Play Blues Piano - A Beginner's Guide to Improvisation: Disc 2

David Cohen continues his expert instruction in blues piano, taking you beyond the beginner’s level and firmly into intermediate territory. Again, the heart and soul of this lesson is in your ability to improvise, and David gives you all the tools you’ll need to make up your own solos, completely by ear.

David’s approach to teaching is systematic and logical, and he packs an amazing amount of information into this DVD lesson, giving you enough material to keep you busy for months to come.

very interesting and fun, but a lot to learn in one week. I recommend for you if you only want to pick up a few tricks, turn around or intros.

The good news is that the production values are very good. The lighting, set, piano, sound and camera work are excellent. Sadly, though, there's very little substantive information here considering how long the DVDs are. It appears as if the producers and star had no script and just a vague idea of the 2-3 topics Mr. Cohen would cover in each disc. This results in a rambling, herky-jerky, slow, repetitive presentation of material. Even more sadly, I've not seen anything else one can rent on this (or related) topics at SmartFlix. So, if you're desperate for piano instruction, you might get 1-2 ideas from these discs. But, be prepared to fall asleep several times and, if you can stay awake, keep your finger on the Fast Forward button to minimize frustration.
