"Survival" takes on a new connotation when you witness "reality" by following a small group into the wilderness under strictly primitive conditions.
In Part 1 you will witness how to create a life from only what nature has to offer. Observe as they make fire (in wet conditions), a water proof shelter, baskets, bow & arrow, traps, pottery. string, axes, knives - and more ... All from what nature has to offer!
Part 2 of this DVD illustrates how primitive living with all of your gear, even tho "Primitive" and primitive made, is nothing more than a camping trip. Venture out with John & Geri McPherson as they lead groups into the Flint Hills of Kansas - teaching and presenting.
(about 120 minutes)
One of the most basic of wilderness living and survival skills, the building of a shelter takes on many forms. In this presentation noted primitive skills instructors John & Geri McPherson illustrate the making of not just quickie overnight survival shelters but what has been in the past real houses for our ancestors. Here you will watch as they describe just what a shelter is, what for it's purpose and why. Four shelters are built - each from natural materials commonly found throughout the world; sticks, grasses, rocks, sod - and more. Location is discussed, frameworks built and walls and roofs constructed. All protect you from the rain and allow interior fires. Every stage is shown and explained in detail.
