Breakin' Rock -1: Percussion Flintknapping

This DVD will teach you the basics of flintknapping, the foundation of which is percussion flaking. One half of this two hour video is spent "in the classroom" learning John's comprehension of the physics behind flake removal. The 2nd hour is spent; 1- removing flakes making a core and, 2- making a bifacial preform. Flake by flake, unravel the secrets.

Following the rules set forth in his first flintknapping video, Breakin' Rock 1, primitive skills expert John McPherson takes us thru one hour of non-stop flake removal to show that the secret of making an arrowhead is not so secret. Step by step, flake by flake (one flake at a time, the mystery is removed and science prevails as john, making two arrowheads in detail, shows how to overcome various obstacles.
