This DVD was okay. I picked up a few good tips. There were times when I could not see what he was doing because his hand blocked the view of the brush. I wish he had spent more time explaining his brush strokes. I liked when they showed the real life set-up in a little box in the corner, while he painted, with this I could understand what he was doing. I wished they had done this more often.
This Dvd is superb....Robert Johnson is a fabulous artist..and the DVD camera work doesn't miss a single stroke. I learned a tremendous amount from watching this and might just rent it again! It was long, 2 hours, I think, but very informative. He really makes it look easy to do....trust me it's not that easy but not that difficult either. I just love the freedom with which he paints...and how it all glows. He's an excellent artist.
This was another excellent video on painting flowers in oil. I liked this one especially,because the artist explained his thinking for the background, those seemingly silent spaces that say so much. I really learned from this video.
I really liked it. Robert Johnson is an exceptional painter. I do wish he explained more what he was doing regarding brushes and paint colors being used but I know it is difficult to paint and teach at the same time.
First, I love this site. Extremely user friendly, loads of DVD's for artists (my choice of using the site) and since I teach, I now recommend this site to all of my students. I love it. As far as the one I ordered, Robert Johnson, just terrific. I plan to continue using your service.
This video stopped in the middle and skipped a lot. I did not want to wait to get another and it wasn't that interesting anyway. I am not thrilled with Johnson's style of painting but if you like it be sure it doesn't skip.
