Scott's dvd is one of the best out there. he gives tons of practical information and includes us viewers as part of the team. I learned so much from this dvd and incredible artist that is so generous to share his knowledge. it is well worth the money & time!
This is a great educational video by Scott Burdick. It's not near as involved or thorough as the "In the Studio:Peru Colors" set, but I preferred it to the "Rebecca Firelit" set. First off, the title mislead me, but I wasn't disappointed with what I got. This video has Scott painting a fully clothed seated model draped with a green throw. It has great colors and a beautiful blonde model who's side lit, and Scott turns out a stunning portrait of her in the end. It's very painterly and a bit quicker with Scott doing less reworking of the face than in the Rebecca video. You get to see a lot of the model in this set too, so you're not in the dark about what he's seeing.
This is a great video, I think it is worth renting. Scott talks you through the whole painting. He is both personal and generous with information. RENT IT!
Very boring, like watching paint dry. I do not feel it was a learning type of program at all.
It [was bad]! He didn't talk about anything but himself and this art.
Scott's Painting the Figure was well worth the investment in time and money. I've bought many art books and watched a few films and my feeling is that anytime you take away one solid piece of information that improves your own work you've made a good investment. Scott's film certainly fulfills that criteria.
i really did receive good info thanks bea doone-merena
Excellent in every respect. He is as good a teacher as he is a painter. Fascinating to see him work with giant and tiny brushes. Lots of great info for every level of skill.
I had attended the event that this video was filmed at. It was a weekend in Alabama with several great artists there to demo for artists and collectors. It was my first time meeting Scott and I was impressed by the man behind the paintbrush. This video is more of a demo for the audience he had and by no account a complete teaching video. I feel you can learn a lot by watching and thats exactly what this is. If you want a true video of Scott's teachings from beginning to end then you need to get one of his videos filmed by Lilidahl. Since I was there and I love to watch Scott paint I'm giving it the 4 stars for what it is, a demonstration, LIVE.
For me it is a great video to watch in order to refine my search for a loser brush stroke. It is also nice to watch such a young and talented artists at work,
