In this DVD, Jenn Burns, Judy and Edgar Kleindinst take you through the complete building process as they construct a Panache cedar strip kayak. They take you to the lumber yard and show how to pick your cedar with the best grain configuration, set up the forms on the strongback, strip the deck with some really creative effects, fair and sand the boat, fiberglass and varnish. Originally created as a weekly how-to on a local cable channel in Massachusetts, the weeks of work have been edited to 240 minutes as two parts on one DVD.

Very thorough and interesting video of procedure to build a woodstrip canoe. Included each step along with common mistakes and ways to avoid them. Quality was simular to a home movie. Well worth the rental if you are planning on building a kayak. Plan on spending 4+ hours watching, as many parts are worth reviewing and taking notes.
I THOUGHT THE DVD WAS POOR QUALITY. IT WAS DARK AND HARD TO SEE AT TIMES. LOOKED LIKE IT WAS A VHS COPY TO ME. VERY DATED LOOKING. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.CR
The information offered some new ideas and good points, it is worth watching... But the DVD quality and format is pretty messed up. You start on the second half and have to find your way to the beginning.
