Judy Morris shows you an exciting new tool for your painting toolbox and achieve amazingly rich textures using salt. You'll see: how to choose the right colors and salts; increase your watercolor versatility with the subtle differences achieved by combining opaques, transparent, and stains. Get a close-up view as Judy breaks a few "rules" as she applies salt, charges in color, 'tweeks' it after it dries and finishes with an opaque glazing to make an everyday wall an inviting subject for any watercolorist.

I enjoyed watching Judy paint using her salt techniques. Very informative video.
This book is an excellent companion OR continuation of her book 'Watercolor Basics: Light'. Judy goes into great detail of why and how she uses various salts to create textures in her paintings. The video instruction clearly outlines and depicts her process and shows the reactive qualities and results of using salt. She also gives a lot of very helpful information about different paints, how they tend to react with salt and how to go about testing your own paints to develop a sense of what you can achieve on your own. She reveals her entire painting process from design idea all the way to completed, signed painting. I have already used these techniques to complete a demonstration painting that is featured in her book. I'm very happy with it and look forward to experimenting more with this technique.
Judy Morris demonstrates a simple straight-forward approach to achieving wonderful textures using salt. Also, many useful techniques for painting smooth fills and shadows are demonstrated. You'll say, "Why didn't I think of that?" Required viewing by all watercolorist.
This was a good dvd. I enjoyed watching her create the painting and the way that she used salt to add texture. I guess I was looking for something out of the ordinary using the salt, but I was still not disappointed. Glenda
Judy Morris's " Tuscan Textures" was wonderful I learnt a lot from her DVD. I didn't know there was so many different ways you can use salt in your watercolor painting. I highly recomend this DVD every watercolor artist should rent this.
Loved the video. I watched it twice in one day. Great information. Kosher salt here I come. Thank you so much Judy for sharing your skills. And . . . be sure to do the samples like she suggests. I used two different kinds of paints and they worked totally different.

I really enjoyed watching the entire process. This video is much more than the salt process. I learned alot!
I thought the cd was very well made, thorough in its instruction, easy to follow, and would maybe rent the thing again.
I would definitely recommend this dvd. Very informative, lots of specific instruction.
Generally I try hard to be a nice guy and not bad mouth anyone or give negative reviews. In this case, however, I must, in all good conscience, let you know that the DVD, Tuscan Textures: Rich Textures Using Salt, was one of the worst, if not, the worst art instructional material I have ever seen. First, the use of salt was only a minor part of the DVD and at that, never got into issues of the wetness of the paper or the lack thereof, when using different kinds of salt, or anything else that would be useful for the artist. The remainder and most of the DVD was watching the artist paint a picture that was one step removed from a paint by numbers program. All in all a dull, lifeless picture in a dull, lifeless DVD.
Very thorough in terms of Judy Morris' salt technique, but a bit tedious. I think either the DVD could have been shorted, or included other methods of texturing surfaces for the watercolorist.
