This video was filmed during the School of Oil Painting, where this painting was the subject of the Old Master (Venetian Method) workshop. It was filmed over a six-day period and shows every demonstration performed for the class. You can be a part of the workshop and paint along with me, just as the participants of the class did. Lessons presented in this lengthy work include instructions on how to enlarge the drawing from 18" x 24" to 30" x 40" or 36" x 48".

Not only is she explaining what she is doing as you watch (she has narrated over the visual so everything said is well thought out and relevant, no rambling) but she explains why particular results occur and freely offers much information on painting technique in general.
Over 3 hours of detailed instruction. Not a stroke missing and every brushstroke visible. She also shows the color palettes. Video is clear and professionally made.

A very informative video about the classical grisaille technique. Highly recommended. The techniques presented can be applied to any style of painting and improve the end result. Well organized and presented!I also thought it was interesting that Waterhouse who created the original painting did not use this technique but the workshop's end result was a reasonable facsimile.
Quite and intricate painting. Was really enjoyable to watch. I will have to rent this again when I get more experienced. Recommend this highly.
