It was worth renting. My husband really learned a lot.
Excellent guide. I am a professional contractor with 14 years of experience. I always send my new employees to rent or buy this DVD before their first day on the job. It explains in a very simple way how to build a new roof and can replace the actual hand-on experience. I recommend to watch all three DVDs, as they go over the entire process of roof cutting, from basic to complex structures. It's the best (and only) DVD I have seen for roof carpentry.
I am glad I rented these video's. I have just completed building a 10x14 storage building (the walls that is ), and this video gave me the knowledge and confidence to proceed with the roof framing portion the project. Mr. Peters is a very knowledgeable craftsman, and presents the material in a manner that can be easily comprehended by the average layman. If anyone is interested in roof framing in a personal or professional capacity I would highly recommend renting the three dvd series as I did.

Confusing. Numbers are thrown out without any explanation of what they are, or where they came from. Terms are used without definitions. Parts are cut without any sense of why, or where they fit into the whole.
I turned it off after 40 minutes.
