A good introduction into motion graphics using Lightwave. As a long-time user of Lightwave I thought I knew all the tricks to great graphics but there is a lot to learn here.
This is an excellent series regardless of the 3D software package you use. The insight and techniques are universal due to the fact that all modern 3D apps basically have the same functionality. Beginners, you won't have to look any further but it does leave the intermediate to advanced users looking for more. I rented the entire set and I highly recommend you doing so to get the entire vibe of the series. DVD 4, Grand Design, is my favorite and I wished he went into a little more detail in the broadcast design chapter to build the project from start to finish, but what he showed was a great starter for those looking for a first step in this style of design. Kudo's times 10 to Rich for an awesome series.
This video seemed a bit boring and uses after effects to make the final backgrounds. I was thinking it was going to be flashes and shimmer and other wonderful effects. But it was very slow paced and took way to long to see some results. It would be better to buy from digital juice for backgrounds.
