As you make a beautiful "Beaded Treasure Pouch Necklace", you will learn how to work tubular and flat peyote, how to follow a peyote stitch
design graph, & how to make a peyote stitch graph of your own design. You will also learn how to tie-on and tie-off threads, increase and
decrease, & design and execute different types of fringe. All of this information will become invaluable and applicable to many other types of
beadwork. Her detailed directions are aimed at the novice beadworker, but the many helpful hints shared will be of value even to the
experienced beader. And, as an added bonus, Carol also includes directions for making an easy beaded peyote stitch covered needlecase!

Carol will teach you how to make the herringbone stitch and increase and decrease for tubular and flat herringbone.
From this knowledge, you will be able to make the following projects:
a 3-D beaded ring,
a flat braided ribbon bracelet,
a bracelet constructed of fan-shaped elements,
and a sea urchin-shaped basket.
Four different methods of turning at the end of the rows will also be learned and then each will be incorporated appropriately in to the projects.
Several twisting and tubular pieces will be demonstrated to that you can design your own necklace.The directions are explicit and written instructions also are included for reference.
Prerequisites:
This is an intermediate video where some beadwork skills using seed beads are helpful.
Many of the beading tips and hints shared will be of value even to the experienced beadworker.

This is a very good video. Easy to follow. Great close up shots. Lots of really good tips too.
The camera is zoomed in on the work the whole time so you really get a good picture of how to do the stitch. She gives easy to follow instructions throughout.
This is a very good CD if you know nothing about beadweaving with peyote stitch. Patterns for projects are included with the DVD. It gave me the confidence to start making things using peyote stitch. I did not do the project which is what you should do while watching the DVD. Maybe next time. Happy beading.
Answered some of my questions but, I felt it was too expensive for what I got out of it.
I like the Beadweaving DVD very much. Herringbone is a pattern I struggled with for a long time but the instructor made it very clear and easy for me to follow. I would recommend this DVD to anyone struggling to learn this stitch. Gladys
