Like Ron Covell, Kent White is a metal working sensei. He worked for Harrah's and did metal work for the Hughes Racer in the film The Aviator.
If you watch any of the Discovery Channel car or bike shows, then you've seen folks form metal into some incredible shapes. If you would like more detailed information on how those processes are performed, you should rent this DVD.
You're in Ken's dojo, watching him do some amazing things with an air hammer of his own design. He offers plans, parts, dies, or the whole air hammer on his Web site. But you don't have to own one of his air hammers in order to form some of the same shapes.
Shot in digital format, great visual detail, well paced and tons of information.
This was a very good video. Very detailed and very good camera work. Well worth watching
I learned a lot from the video. However I think it was leaned a little more to promoting the product rather than getting into the real principles or 'tricks of the trade'. Things like how to make a bowl. Start in the center and work out or start on the outer edge and work in.Good video.
Informative DVD / I am a first time user of the air hammer and I believe the information and demonstrations will be helpful. I can see it is going to take a lot of experimenting and practice but without the DVD it would be much more difficult to learn.
Oh my God, I have to have one of those hammers. He can do in seconds what takes me hours to do by hand.
The video gave me the information that I was looking for and I am very pleased. I found that the presenter's reluctance to follow common sense safety procedures bothered me.
Also the video spent too much time marketing air hammer products which I felt took advantage of the viewer.
I suggest that the presenter should make a finished product at some point in the video.
I was very impressed with the ability to thicken and shrink metal with an air hammer and special dies. Blew me away! I have over 30 years experience in metal processes and I have never known such a thing could be done so simply at room temperature.
Thanks for asking for my opinion and I do hope the comments help.
This is a 2 hour advertisement for tm tech tools. Drink plenty of coffee and turn the volume up, this is "boring"
I personally own all of the DVDs the Kent White makes and a lot of the tools he produces including this Air Hammer. This DVD is not intended to show someone how to use just any air hammer; this DVD is to show those who want to buy the air hammer from TM Technologies what their air hammer is capable of. This DVD is still very educational but due keep in mind this DVD is a promotional tool from Kent for his Air Hammer. You do get to see how easy it is to make a low crown shape or a high crown shape. You will find that being able to shrink – stretch – shape & form all with one machine is something few machines can do and the master behind this amazing machine teaches it all to you.
Quite useful. Found it quite useful and recommend it to the beginner and as a review for the mid range skills of the hobbyist.
Very impressive, learned a lot of what can and cannot be done with a piece of metal. Recommend this for any novice that is even thinking of fabrication.
This video is more of a product endorsement than an explanation of air hammer techniques. The narrator explained in great detail how to use the machine, but not the principles and theory of the shaping of the metal, and the design of the various dies.
