Advanced Enclosure Design and Fabrication focuses exclusively on designing and fabricating subwoofer boxes for car audio installations. This DVD is designed for the enthusiast who wants to be able to take any woofer and design and build the best box match for it and the vehicle it's going into. They took the easiest and lowest cost techniques and combined them with the knowledge of a fourteen year installation veteran to create a video that shows you how to design and fabricate your own enclosures like a real pro. You'll learn the same techniques, software and materials the pros use to make top quality subwoofer enclosures.
This DVD covers three of the most popular enclosures. The first is a vented (ported) enclosure with a round port. This enclosure is rectangular and very easy to build even for those without any experience. The enclosure is first modeled using free enclosure design software. Then the enclosure side dimensions are calculated automatically using another piece of free software. Finally the cut sheet for the wood is optimized and printed out to take to the lumber yard (again, free software is used).
Wrapping the enclosure.
The second enclosure is a more complex bandpass enclosure that's popular for producing high SPL numbers over a range of frequencies (rap, hip-hop, etc.). The vent on this design is the less often used rectangular port. You'll see how to make the transition from using round ports to the more stylish rectangular port. You'll also learn how to easily calculate the proper vent length when adding corners to the vent. The enclosure is also modeled and laid out using the three free pieces of software detailed above.
Fiberglassing the wheel well.
The final enclosure is a simple sealed design but in a wedge or truck box shape. This enclosure is also used to show how professionals get the "no seam" look in their carpet and coverings. This is a must know technique if you want to take your enclosure building skills to the next level. The enclosure is also modeled and laid out using the three free pieces of software detailed above.
All three projects use free software for the design. It's recommended that you have access to a table saw if but it's not absolutely necessary. Here are some of the other installation topics and techniques you'll learn that will help you save time, money and aggravation.

Fiberglass Fabrication I, will teach you the basics of fiberglass fabrication with popular but simple to create projects. The DVD begins with an in depth overview of the materials and tools needed for the projects demonstrated. A description of each item is given along with the approximate cost of purchase (so you don't get ripped off). If you've never worked with fiberglass than this information is absolutely essential. Once this important background information is complete the fun begins.
wrapping the kick panel.
This DVD covers three of the most popular fiberglass projects. The first is the creation of custom kickpanels. By far the most popular custom project, kick panels will give you a much better sound and add a custom look to any installation. You'll be walked through the process of creating kick panel pods with less than twenty dollars in material cost.
Wrapping the enclosure.
The second project is the addition of a fiberglass baffle to an MDF enclosure. This is what you see done in many of the top competition vehicles. The fiberglass baffle is what allows your enclosure to have the curves and shapes not possible with an all MDF enclosure. You'll learn how to create your custom shape, how to wrap it properly and how to finish the piece for its final covering.
Fiberglassing the wheel well.
The final project is a spare tire subwoofer enclosure. This is a very popular option for hidden or "stealth" installations. You'll learn how to make a mold of the spare tire well, how to increase the strength and decrease the construction time, and how to add a flat MDF baffle to the curved fiberglass mold.
All three projects are basic, relatively uncomplicated pieces that were designed to get a beginner started in fiberglass fabrication. It's recommended that you use a router and a powered sander for some of the steps but it's not required.

Mobile Security and Remote Start Installation focuses exclusively on car alarm and remote starter installation. This DVD begins with an overview of mobile security systems and discusses the different features and options available in a car alarm installation. Then it covers pre-wiring for the car alarm installation and gives an overview of relays and diodes. From there it moves into the vehicle to verify the wires needed and the actual installation of the system. The video concludes with the proper testing procedures and troubleshooting tips.
The system being installed is a top of the line unit that integrates mobile security and remote starter / keyless entry systems with 2-way paging capability. This will allow you to see how the most advanced alarms are installed so that you can install a similar system or the more basic models.
Car alarm installation can be very frustrating for the beginner which is why this video was designed to walk you step by step through each part of the process. Using these techniques in the order shown will eliminate mistakes and rework while increasing reliability and speed.
Here are some of the topics and techniques you'll learn that will help you save time, money and aggravation.

Fiberglass Fabrication II covers more advanced fiberglass projects and is designed to take those with basic fiberglass experience to the next level. Recommended for professional installers and those wanting professional results from their own vehicles.
fiberglass subwoofer enclosure
This DVD covers three fiberglass projects in depth. The first is the creation of a vehicle molded subwoofer enclosure. These space saving and stealthy enclosures will have you installing subwoofer boxes in places you never thought possible. You'll be walked through the process of creating an enclosure with less than fifty dollars in materials (comparable to a $500 retail enclosure).
fiberglass enclosure subwoofer.
The second project is a combination subwoofer enclosure and amplifier rack. You'll learn how to combine a triple woofer enclosure with a flush mounted amplifier rack in a single piece. You'll learn how to frame up the project, wrap it, strengthen it, prime it, paint it and get it ready for a show quality system. You'll be able to make this $1,000 project with less than $100 in material cost.
fiberglass door panel tweeter pod.
The final project is the creation of custom door panels and tweeter pods. You'll learn how to blend textures and colors and how to make sure the door fits properly after completion. You'll learn how to cut, bond, texture and dye match your projects so that your new door panels don't look like they were bolted on. Total cost to make these custom panels and pods is less than $50 a pair.
All three projects are high value, low cost pieces that are designed to take you to the next level of fiberglass fabrication. It's highly recommended that you have access to an air compressor for several of the tools used in this video (air sander, paint gun, etc.).

This is a great packet of DVD's for anyone wanting to get into the customization aspect of car interiors. I'm glad I found this on here because I was actually going to purchase these because I did not think you could rent them. This series should also be listed in with the Fiberglass section, but I digress. These are very informative to a point where they tell you exactly what tools you need, where to buy them, and what you'll pay. The teaching is very straight-forward without any over-explaining. I found the two fiberglass DVD's and the speaker enclosure DVD invaluable. So much information for the common Joe and at a great price. Highly Recommended.
Weird how Ricard S. had remarked that he had just about bought the dvds, since I actually purchased them before seeing them here (DOH!). I have the two fiberglass dvd's and they are not only very informative, but a real eye opener. The author explains very clearly, going step by step on what tools are needed as well as the necessary safety precautions. Unfortunately, since i live in Canada, I do not have the same access to materials that he has (I got a typed list of suppliers with the dvd purchase) so I had to do some hunting. A great dvd series for anybody interested in taking their car audio to the next level.
The information was given at a very fast pace and not in detail. Would not recommend this DVD.
