Suellen Fowler, one of the foremost colorists and glass chemists of our time, shares a bit of her formidable knowledge of hand-mixing borosilicate colors, a technique she pioneered. In this DVD video she uses her handmade colored rods to create her signature hobnail perfume bottle, an Aurora vessel, a sculptural dragon, and a spinning top.

I loved watching Suellen work her magic. I have never seen such colors from Boro glass - watching her gives much inspiration on everything from the mixing of colors to sculpting a dragons wings.
It was okay, going through the dragon and bottles was very good although some explanation of what was going on in the techniques was not explained. The little comments by those in the glass field did nothing for the video.
This was awesome! I even recommended it to some of my non-glass friends as just fun to watch. Now if I can just get Suellen's silver oxide formula for my own....
I thought this was very interesting. It is not a detailed how-to DVD, but you can follow Suellen Fowler as she makes a dragon, bottles or vessels, and spinning tops. She has amazing detail and color sense. I felt I picked up a lot of good information, but not a lot of hints or tips.
"LAG" This video left me with the inspiration... "Sheez, I wish I could do that!" I appreciated the Top tut and have made some which are a lot of fun. Wish I could take a class with Suellen.. Every boro artist should see this DVD for it's techniques.... Great precision...
This is an excellent video on a very talented artist. I found watching it multiple times helped me really understand what she was doing and why. You only wish it was longer...

I found this DVD very inspirational for color combinations, use of silver powder, etc.
I rented it to see what might be in store during a week long intensive with Suellen- I can't wait!!
She makes it look so easy! Good video and glad I could rent it though; probably wouldn't watch it a hundred times.
