Without a doubt the 1911 is a top choice as a personal defense weapon or for building the latest race guns. But not many people really understand how this locked breech single action auto works. We constantly hear from seasoned gunsmiths who, after watching this Armorer's course, admit "gee..., I didn't know that". Wonder why after you have added that latest trick gadget, your .45 isn't quite as reliable as it use to be? Invest a few minutes learning about feed ramp design, lock-up, loose breech and extractor fit. Then use Bob's simple techniques to tune your .45 for maximum reliability and performance. As in all AGI Armorer's Courses, you will see the inner workings of the .45 clearly demonstrated with a cutaway gun, as well as complete disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and reassembly, down to the last part. In addition numerous special repairs and a frank evaluation of popular accessories are also included. This course is a "must have" and is applicable to all makes, models and calibers of the 1911 ".45 Auto."

Great look at the old warhorse pistol. Breaks donw the cleaning, function and troubleshooting perfectly. Mr. Dunlop and AGI are in top form in this one. Fantastic. Explanations are easy and they have excellent cut out pistols so you can see the pieces interacting and functioning properly. Great video.
Rent this one first. It explains everything well, then rent How to build for consealed carry Disk 1. They explain everything you will need to know about 1911.
Excellent instructional video. Covers all points of the system, except for live fire. The video is a bit dated so it does not cover new features on new models like accessory rails, lights, lasers, etc. It does cover single stack and double stack Para magazines.
This video falls seriously short of qualifying as an 'Armorers' Course. It does give a good asssembly/disassembly instruction and a few reliability tips, but after watching it, I most certainly would NOT even think of calling myself an "Armorer" after taking this "Course".
Not exactly what I was expecting. I should have read the description a little better. I gave this video a high rating because it did have some very good information and even though I know how to do everything in the video, I still learned a few more tips and tricks. If you own a 1911 or clone, this is a must see video as it gives very thourough instructions on disassembly and maintenance. All in all good video!
Very informative, a good video for someone with moderate gun smithing skills. safety first make sure all safety precautions are followed. Information presented is clear and relevant. A few more extreme close-ups would have been nice, but all in all not a bad DVD.
The information was very basic at best, and the sound quality was poor. I had planned to watch the DVD on my wide screen TV but had to use my computer so I could hear him speak.
I previously rented the DVD for the Smith and Wesson Revolver. It was excellent.
By comparison, the DVD for the Colt 1911 was not as good.
Although informative, it was not good in depth regarding adjustments and clarity of presentation close-ups. Disappointing.
Good instruction with specifics. I found it very informative.
Good video for 1911 owners or soon to be owners. Lots of detail. Many tips for keeping your 1911 in top shape. I thoroughly enjoyed and learned quite a bit from it. Highly recommend this video.
I enjoyed this disk. I thought it was very relaxed and entertaining...and informative. Leonard
Very good. Explains the correct operation of Mr. Browning's masterpiece, and also explains common malfunctions. If you shoot 1911s you should watch this video.
Well done lots of good info. Will have to buy a lot of specialty tools though.
