Kevin Tetz is a nut. His light hearted demonstrations put you at ease. I really enjoyed this video. It's not major dent or body repair but rather an overview to the world of paint and body work. It's clear and easy to follow and presented in a way that makes you feel comfortable enough to give it a try yourself.
The video was very informative and I learned new techniques of body work and painting.
This guy is amazing! The video is awsome and extremely inforative. I just wish hw could talk about fiberglass parts as well, but as an overall, all I can say is that GREAT VIDEO... YOU'VE GOTTA WATCH IT.
I think this -- and the others in the Paintucation series -- are good, but not great.
Their major value is to see someone go through a complete exercise start to finish and to see the actual movements and use of tools. It's much better than reading about it or seeing a sequence of "how to" still pictures.
With that said: Don't expect this DVD to be a compendium of body shop techniques. One type of dent is shown, using one type of removal technique. I thought it might actually go into a fuller discussion of metal bumping and the different types of tools available and which situations to use them in, etc. But, it doesn't.
I think the biggest value of this DVD (and Tetz's others) is that he sprinkles in little tips and tricks that he has accumulated through the years. These are things like: How to "dress" a bondo spatula to use it as a squeegee, or How to form a single edge razor blade into a plane-type tool for scraping sags and runs out of paint jobs. These are the techniques that no one writes about, but which proficient people "just know".
I WOULD RECOMMED THIS VIDEO OR ANY OF THE PAINTUCATION VIDEO, IT WAS A GOOD LEARNING VIDEO, BUT I MUST SAY I WAS DISSAPOINTED IT TOOK 3 WEEK TO RECEIVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!
Good overview to provide basics and tips
IT WAS A GOOD VIDEO, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY WHO'S INTO THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELDS!!!!!
I liked the video because it covered all the bases without spending too much time on each segment. The time was taken to show the detail with the close up shots which really helps those of us who don't do body work all the time.
I've seen other videos with phones ringing, cars driving by, and airplanes flying over that cancel out the audio just long enough to leave me wondering what had been said.
The guy who did this video didn't seem to be a professional announcer or actor, although he did a really good job. When he talked about what he was doing, I felt like he had done the actual body work many times and to me, it comes across a lot better that way.
This is the first automotive video I've seen that is somewhere between being a slick production with the 3D graphics that plays like an infomercial and "be still baby you're shaking the camera", in other words right where it should be. I'm giving it the highest rating for that reason.
Very good. He will teach you and not try to sell you supplies. So far all of his DVDs are great. I have rented and bought alot of them but his are the most of a learning value
Excellent DVD, A must for every library collection
This entire series is excellent. Kevin Tetz makes an excellent video.
Great, down-to-earth dude. Every aspect of color sanding and buffing to a superior gloss is explained. Sure helped me out and gave me a more detailed understanding for achieving the perfect finish. Highly recommended!
It was good, but i wish it was a little newer so it would cover some of the newer products.
Good video showing basic techniques. And the mullet hair cut on the guy is funny.
Good review of the basics of car painting. Not much said about how to do the job if you can't rent a booth.
Very good video, I learned a lot, just wish a few more details were given. I am renting the 2nd one now so I may get all my questions answered yet. Worth renting for sure.
Great video.
Great video. Lots of valuable hints and tips.
Very for the novice, Has some good tips and tricks!
I am truly enjoying the Paintucation series. They discuss just what I need to know and don't take too long doing it. I am taking lots of notes so I can refer back when I get into my project. Thanks!
Great info and tips, This DVD can make anyone a painter it seems ! Only flaw is he painted a white car, which at times was hard to see in the filming of it. A Blue or Red would have been nice. Great DVDS!
