On this DVD Scott introduces the basics of 1, 2 and 3 point perspective drawing and leads you through the exercises needed to gain the skills necessary to draw man-made forms of your own design. Intended to be a lecture for the beginner or a refresher for the working professional, Scott shares the form building basics he utilizes when doing his advanced vehicle drawings; the drawing of freehand perspective grids and ellipses becomes the basis for a form building strategy. The DVD concludes with the drawing of complex curved surfaces that become the building blocks for vehicles in Scott's following DVDs.

On this DVD Scott introduces you to the marker-sketch-collage techniques he employs when creating unique environment paintings within Adobe Photoshop(R). The process starts by loosely sketching a variety of shapes with warm grey markers on vellum and mylar. After he completes and scans eight of these quick sketches, you can follow along as he overlays the sketches to create unique color palettes and compositions within Adobe Photoshop(R). To complete the process, Scott then paints digitally on nine of the compositions. During the execution of the quick environment paintings Scott discusses lighting strategies, composition, atmospheric and linear perspective.

Brilliant DVD, clear, descriptive, and profoundly helpful for learning hardcore perspective. #1 requires multiple viewings to fully absorb because there is such a high density of information. Others are quite good, and build off of #1.
This was an excellent introduction to sketching and perspective principles. A great review for the experienced creative.
volume 1 of Scott Robertson's DVDs is a very informative and easy to follow DVD. Whether you already know the content in which it addresses or think you know, you are likely to find or hear something that you have never considered before. Excellent DVD and is recommended before starting on the other Volumes to follow, I myself will recommend it and say that practice and practice of the freehand technique will work wonders on your line quality and thought process when sketching thumbnail images.
This DVD is awesome. You learn to create environments sporadically that are way more interesting than ones you would have thought of on your own. Good stuff
Great instructional dvd. Scott is very talented and shows some great ground work for drawing a lot of different vehicles from different eras. His style is still on the futuristic side, and if your looking to have more of a sketched base technique like "foose" this really isn't the disc.
