While the paintings were nice, I thought this title would have more information on specific tips and tricks. Basically, you are just watching Dusso zoom through creating matte paintings and not really explaining very much about the tips and techniques he is using in Photoshop.
I have to say I was disappointed greatly by the DVD. Though Dusso is an amazing artist, this DVD is not exactly inspiring, nor is it a strong motivator to get started at attempting Matte Painting. What this DVD TRULY is, is a window into how a professional works at roughing out light and form to give a sense of reality. That much you will learn and see how to think about light and shapes and then in the future apply those ideas to your own work after you PRACTICE PRACTICE and PRACTICE some more on your own. This is not a DVD for teaching you how to Matte Paint, but a very QUICK view of how to approach it. I give it a middle score on the rating because it still is a good DVD for what it does provide you... after all, given all the information in the world, it's still up to you to explore it on your own.
I really like this one, however I can understand why people saying it's boring, but isn't watching artist doing his masterpiece is the greatest learning of all.
