This is like being the student of a master metal craftsman. The description doesn't mention it, this video is all about shaping a fender on an English Wheel with lots of interesting curves out of aluminum sheet. Without this instruction, it would take a long time to figure out how to do what he accomplished. The techniques he uses are very precise and fairly slow going. In the video, he says that making the one fender takes 200-400 hours.

If you were to only rent one video for metal shaping, this would be it.

It's only one fender, but it incorporates almost all the skills you would need to build a complete car body.

It's a perfect example of how the old panel beaters could produce great forms using basic tools. John produces this fender using a wheel, hand shrinker/stretcher and a few dollies and pipes.

Make sure you watch this video at least 4 times. I guarantee, you'll pick up something new every time.

Slow starting, but after it got going I found it outstanding. Great knowledge of English wheel. Would I recommend it? Yes.

Superb. John is knows so much, but he also such a charming and articulate fellow. He actually tells you why he is doing what he is doing as he does it. His tools are mostly home made, including his wheel, and he works quickly and efficiently. Despite his talent and expertise he is as down to earth as anyone you will meet. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot.

Great Video!!! I like the way he broke the fender down into smaller section to form and then welded together to make a high quality part.
