It may seem simple at first, but Rudy takes you through the various nuances of how layout works. His discussion is informative and the actual layout he does is interesting.
Genuinely excellent - I rented as a woodworker looking to improve my accuracy, and found many things to learn. Made me want to start some metalworking!
Wow, was this helpful! Small details I had forgotten (I took my mechanical drawing class in 1966) were included. And watching Rudy move tools around, match them, manipulate tool and workpiece, combine measuring devices -- that really gave me great insights into the job ahead of me. I was all fired up and wanted to jump immediately into producing something, but will settle for starting the right way: with a drawing of my own
This is excellent information that describes how to lay out projects by hand and do it accurately. Many things are not intuitive for the beginner, and this tool makes it all very clear.
The CNC user will find it less usefull.
I found it very informative and recommend it to anyone just getting into machining like myself.
