Making Music with Victor Wooten and Carter Beauford

...with Victor Wooten & Carter Beauford

Bass how-to video: Making Music with Victor Wooten and Carter Beauford by Victor Wooten & Carter Beauford 5_bulb Review this video!

Featuring in-session footage from Vic's "Yin Yang" album.

With: Bela Fleck, Jeff Coffin, Joseph Wooten and Regi Wooten.

Making Music features two of the most creative musicians in contemporary music. Victor and Carter have known each other since they were kids, growing up in Charlottseville, VA, but the "Yin Yang" album was the first project that they had ever done together. Hudson Music filmed these two incredible musicians for two days while they recorded two tracks for "Yin Yang" (Compass Records). Making Music will give you an inside look as two great songs, "Zynergy" and "Resolution" are introduced, developed and recorded. It's a fascinating process to watch when players of this caliber are involved.

Also featured is material from an additional shoot in a NYC recording studio. Over the course of this session Carter and Victor discuss their approaches to both songs and isolate the bass and drums parts for each. They also cover such topics as playing in odd times, styles, musicianship, turnarounds and more.

This is a "must-have"! I watched this video with a friend and was totally amazed at the musicianship, technique and wisdom offered throughout! It is no secret that Victor and Carter are incredible on their instruments, but the golden message is during Victor's segment on how to be a "musician". Really listen and understand what he has to say. THIS is what people need to understand if they ever want to bring themselves to the level that many do not achieve. Only the top musicians really believe and understand what Victor describes. Know it, believe it and apply it...you'll get there!
