Not bad. Good sound quality. OK video quality. Some useful closeups. Medium quality instruction. There are two projects: 1 gun holster and 1 knife sheath.

This video deals only with manipulating Kydex. There is almost no information about designing a holster or even where to place rivets to get appropriate tension. There are a few rough guidelines as he is sanding away parts of the holster, but that's it. There is no information about what Kydex is or its strengths, weaknesses, maintenance or durability. They mention Concealex but don't say why you would choose it over Kydex.

Most of the tools used are simple and would be in any well equipped home shop, except for the rivet press and "sheath making press", and you could probably rig alternatives for those. This video gives you enough information to get started molding Kydex sheaths and holsters. It looks pretty simple, but I suspect there would be a learning curve as you figure out how much of the holster/sheath you need to grind away and where to locate the rivets, especially on holsters.

As basic as it gets.

Some what informative, but not for anyone that has any knowledge of Kydex forming. The filming and editing are almost laughable, at one point he drops a rubber washer, we get to watch him scrounge around the floor trying to find it.

I almost bought this video before finding it here, thanks Smartflix, if I'd payed full price I'd feel cheated.

I did pick up one or two tidbits, but all in all, not something I'd recommend.

I was rather disappointed with the quality of this very amateur video, but as it's apparently the only thing available on this subject, I guess it's better than nothing.

The DVD is not that great. I showed how to cut and heat the Kydex but it did not show how to size it for the knife. For example It would be nice to know how much extra to leave around the knife so the rivets will fit. It was all a guess. the other thing was they did not show you how to build a press but more than likely want you to buy it from them at the WEB site they mention. this could have been a lot better.

It was good for what it covered.. hand forming with a foam press....

I was hoping for a vacuum forming type kydex video, but this is not it, but it didn't claim to be either..

Ordered this from knifekits along with a few others. I will agree that the video is not the best quality, but there's nothing else out there for how to make kydex sheaths and holsters.

Personally, even though the lighting and audio weren't that great (seen worse) I picked up alot of info from this video. I enjoyed Ryan's commentary and instruction, he has a great personality. Very energetic.

I had no idea that forming kydex and making kydex sheaths was so easy. It looked so intimidating, and before this video I probably wouldn't have even tried it. I like the creativity it affords. People get so tripped up on measurements and all that. Ryan makes it a point that it doesn't HAVE to be exact, and that is extremely re-assuring to a new knifemaker like myself.

I do not regret this purchase. I am 100% confident in making this type of sheath now.
