Got several good ideas from this dvd. Spent too much time panning the audience when the camera should have been on the speaker. Not real clear but ok. Would recomment to anyone interested in getting into jewelry engraving.
For those interested in this area of hand engraving, it is very informative. Mike covers a lot of ground from layout, to the business end, and how to get accounts.
A fine lesson from one of my favorite engravers. I've watched him cut in person and he can cut a design and use no more effort than you and I would peeling a carrot. He expresses more with fewer lines than anyone I know.
So sad it wasn't taped in a professional way.
This video was all about nothing. Yes you can make money by engraving something other then guns....Gee, why is this news??? Two stars. jon
Not worth the time it took to watch it. Definitely not worth the cost. It is a tape of a seminar and a bad taping at that. Then they walk around taking video of some artists' work.
I really hate to say this, but this video is the only one of the 19 I've rented so far that I am truly disappointed in. VERY unprofessionaly filmed. I mean, c'mon... The camera kept panning the (bored to tears) audience, slowing to document someone coming back to their chair and having someone else sitting there, on his jacket, which he had to remove bodily. Slowed to zero in on the first guy that fell asleep too. Bet his Mama is proud. Give me a break. I would have been disappointed spending $1 on this video - at 10 times that, I am appalled.
I'm sure the presenter of the seminar is a very talented guy. Didn't see enough of his talent in action to really see that, but I'll err on the side of believing his stated achievements. I did learn one useful thing - gotta try flake shellack for holding items securely. There - you got that one for free. :o) Look elsewhere if you really need decent training.
The video is just a video taped seminar at an engraving conference. Very boring. The seminar is for gun/knife engravers, basically they just say you can make money doing jewelery engraving.
