An excellent introduction to basic Venetian techniques by an excellent teacher. The necessary techniques are explained and demonstrated very well. Good detailed camera work allow you to see exactly what you need to do.
Not for the beginner... for the master glass blower who want's a perfection.
This wasn't so much a glassblowing video as a little visit with William Gudenrath, and while he seems like a charming fellow, I was hoping to learn a bit more about the glasswork and less about his time at Julliard and his fondness for Bach. The other video I've seen from Corning (Intro to Furnace Glassblowing) was clear, well-produced and full of information. This one, though equally well-produced, was rambly and slow. There's glassblowing information here, but you have to wade through a lot of bio-pic to get to it.
I just finished renting this video and liked it so much I purchased a copy. He does tell you a lot about himself but his techniques are flawless. He is also good at explaining what and why he is doing something. You need to have good basic techniques to benefit from this video.
