this is a very good first introduction to the workings of a lathe for someone who has very litttle or no experienece. Camera work was good and the explanation was good. I liked that it came with written set of drawings for the project he builds.
This was very helpful. The presenter is a little stiff in the opening but portrayed a lot of information. I still would like to see more closeups but in general this was a very worthwhile video.
Good information. Some of it was basic but there were enough good tips and tricks to really make it worth my time.
I have rented and purchased several videos on gunsmith techniques and this is one of the best. The presenter sounds like an old friend. The video is edited to take out all of the repetitious or simply time consuming stuff where you are learning nothing. As a consequence, there seemed like 50% more subject matter in the same time.
There is no information on how to run a late. It is assumed you know the basics. On the other hand, there is a lot of good information on the carbide tooling, jigs, lubricants, etc. that he uses.
If you want to learn how to re-barrel, true actions and similar functions, I highly recommend this video.
This is the second video I have watched from Richard's Custom and it is also worth while. Again, the presenter provides a lot of little tips and tricks that I found very useful. This was particularly interesting to me as I have never used the Wilson Benchrest style loading dies.
Another worthwhile video from Richard's Custom Rifles. Although I have seen other videos on pillar bedding, I once again found Richard's tips and tricks to be very useful. He shows how to do this using a mill and using hand tools. His videos (this is the 3rd I have seen) have always provided good information and typically more than I have seen in other videos.
This is too basic for anyone that has used a mill at least once. The instructor speaks very clearly but so slowly that I found myself fast forwarding the video a lot. I found some pearls of wisdom but I had to wade through a lot stuff to get them.
He is very proud of his home made mill (and he should be) but he spent too much time explaining a mill that I will never use.
