This video is a must!! Even if you aren't a beginner. Craig goes through the total breakdown of airbrushes, and how to maintain them. This is crutial to their performance. He also takes you through some exercises that are intended to get you going. The trick is that he explains doing them as a warm up every day will increase your abilities. It WORKS! Best part of the video is that Craig lays everything out so that a 5 year old could truely understand everything.
This video is great in the way that Mike takes you through all the correct colors to use, how to mix them, and when and how to apply. Downside is I felt that the camera angle was bad as I had a hard time seeing what he was doing some times. I would still recommend renting this video, as there are many details discussed that are a must to know.
Fantastic video!! Craig takes the confusion out of the technique of laying out real flames. If you've been struggling to figure out what is wrong with the way yours look...be prepared to say, "OH!" as you are running to your paint booth! The camera angle is fantastic, the lighting is fantastic. You always have an excellent view of the canvas as to see what he's referring to.
Even though the artist doesn't ever wear protection, and has quite the "personality", these videos are excellent in all that they cover. MANY different techniques, as well as some good hints, however minor, which you can gain from. I'd recommend this one for novice users.
If you are looking for a video that gets into detail on how to lay down the paint best for doing caricatures, then this is a great video. If you are looking for a video to really gets into the mechanics of the THEORY or ART of caricatures, then this video might not be for you. I loved the video, but I was wanting to learn more about the art of caricatures, and that just isn't what this one seems to focus on.
