Video: Knifemaking Unplugged

I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. This has to be one of the best videos for a beginner who wants to forge a knife.

It covers making charcoal, building a forge, cutting and forging a big blade from a leafspring. Also shown were heat treating, sand casting a silver Copper alloy, making ferrules, making the knife handle and sheath making.

I tried Netflix but could never find anything I wanted to view. Most of the Hollywood movies are such a waste of time. Smartflix is the opposite .. I want to see hundreds of them.

I have been getting 3 DVD's per month for a while. At first I thought I should get more per month but I found that I like watching them several times during the month so three a month seems to work out well.

I would like the opportunity to select the ones I get first rather than get some I am less interested in. Some DVD's are part of sets and it might be nice to select the set together rather than wait to see the next DVD.
