Mr. Rodriguez does a fine job of introducing a person to the Chinese mini-lathe and takes it along through several basic, yet useful, machining techniques. I find the casual and seemingly unrehearsed style to be engaging. It is as though I were in a friend's garage and he were showing off his latest machine. Some may prefer a more rehearsed and studio like video, but the lighting, audio and close-ups were mostly quite good throughout. The only reason I do not give a full 5 star rating is that he becomes a bit too cavalier at times with his fingers and hands next to the turning parts to remove chips when he should be showing novices to use a chip brush.

Another excellent video from Mr. Rodriguez. I mistakenly thought I was ordering the basic Seig (Chinese) lathe video, but this one has very good demonstrations of basic mini-lathe operations and techniques. The numerous, well lit, and detailed operations make this video an almost essential companion to the 'Basic 7x10 Mini-Lathe' video from him. My only issue with this video is that Mr. Rodriguez should perhaps be demonstrating to novices the use of a chip brush to remove chips next to a turning piece, instead of his fingers.

I must also say, that SmartFlix has very good customer service whenever a problem should arrive. I will continue to use SmartFlix
