This is a very basic video tutorial. I've seen much better. Ms. Peters doesn't really explain why certain tools are used or which tools to use for different techniques. She grasps for terms when trying to explain what she is attempting to do.
The background piano music is very distracting and drowns out some of her instruction.
I would recommend Cheryl Dow's instructional videos for woodburning rather than these if you really want to learn the art of pyrography.
I found these videos to be an excellent learning resource. I have been away from woodburning for quite a few years and the videos not only refreshed techniques I had learned previously, but taught me a few new ones. Ms. Dow has a different approach to teaching, but her videos were the best I've seen for a basic tutorial. She explains why to use different tools to achieve the definition you want for a project.
The videos give quite a bit of information, and Ms. Dow also promotes her books, which contain lots of patterns and guidelines. Of course she's going to "advertise" her products, she's a teacher.
If you're going to rent an instructional video for woodburning, I recommend these highly.
