Video: Fret Basics

This video answered a lot of questions for me concerning the mechanics of guitars (I am ignorant about the building side of things). Setting up a truss rod and using a straight edge on the fret board filled BIG gaps in my knowledge. I think it answered my main question, which is how do you re-crown and re-dress somewhat worn frets. I have a Les Paul with fairly worn frets and a refret was quoted at $400. Apparently the re-crown re-dress is done gently with a triangular file followed by lots of sanding. And that was about it! There was no demo of reshaping worn frets, just crowning new frets. Overall a very well put together video.

Understated and very informative. I think everybody with a developing interest in photography should take a look at this. It is great to get the "top down" perspective on what makes (and how to make) great photos from two of The Best. This rare to see big-picture view point more than makes up for absence of most technical details. They have some exceedingly cool stuff to say. Beware, the production is very understated (as are our 2 hosts), and this means that quite a bit of really insightful and dang useful stuff might just zoom straight past you undetected. Really - listen hard.

Fast Track to Vegas - If you are trying to get up to speed learning Vegas and what it can do, save yourself a lot of time and energy by watching these videos. Excellent explanations and examples.

Great video: This had an unexpectedly large and positive effect on my work flow! Media Manager is an excellent database tool for media cataloging and auditioning, very easy to use (once you've been told how) and more than powerful enough to get the job done. It's like having Filemaker or Access working seamlessly inside Vegas. It has really opened up my audio/photo collections now I am not dependent on my memory and the windows file system. If you have not yet configured you Media Manager this is a must see - the benefits are surprisingly LARGE.
