Highly informative. Bob Dunlap is still a lovable boob. I really don't see how that they can call this an armorer's course. Anything more technical than a thorough tear down and cleaning gets the advice to "send it to a qualified gunsmith". Bob does show you how to stone a sear since his teaching aid shotgun needed it badly. His instructions on how to do it and how to tell if the sear is correct were highly valuable and the best part of this video. His only concession to talking about the hazards of removing the chamber ring were "don't do it". I personally would have appreciated Bob showing exactly how to ream and fit a replacement chamber ring. His assumption was that the reamers and bushings would be too expensive for the advanced hobbyist to procure. That should be a call for the individual to make. Several hundred dollars in tooling doesn't look to awful when you realize that you're going to have to pay a gunsmith that much to do the job for you. I would prefer to purchase the tools, do it myself and have the tools left over for the same amount of money. If you know absolutely nothing about how to strip, disassemble and reassemble a Winchester 1897 then this DVD is for you. If you already have these skills, then try to find something more advanced.
