I'm reasonably proficient at PhotoShop and wanted to expand beyond photo retouching. This tutorial was excellent not only in giving me the grounding I needed in Painter the application, but a solid grounding in the techniques required to turn a photo into a watercolor equivalent.

I especially liked the work on the eyes.

One thing I would have liked to see is a little composite work - adding a different/interesting background rather than manipulating the one that was already there. With that said, I think I have enough to figure that out myself, compositing a new background in Photoshop (not covered in the DVD) and then making sure it's nicely blended in Painter.

Looking forward to the companion DVD...
