I have to say I did enjoy this DVD. Not that I expected I wouldn't, but at the beginning much information seemed a little basic. As the video progressed though, her experienced shined through and there were many good tips and ideas that I got out of it. Thanks. Oh, in the DVD she mentions her favourite dark green is a Unison pastel, but never reveals what the name code is. :(

Bob covers all water types which is great. Not only that, after watching this it made me realize how easy water can be. Both DVDs well worth the rent!!!
The DVD by Bob was very good, although i couldn't watch the last two chapters due a defect in the DVD, it was still worth the rent. Lots of great info.
The DVD by Doug was average in my eyes. The subject was boring and the painting style is not one I cared for. I did learn a couple tips and I always like to see how others work, so it wasn't a complete write off.
The last DVD with Albert Handell was great. Seeing how he starts and works with a watercolor underpainting was fantastic. I find it amazing that an area looks unfinished but then he adds a few strokes and BAM it just pops out. Great stuff.
Being a pastel artists I have to say I really enjoyed watching the watercolor as well.
It is odd that he says he will do one thing, but then forgets and works on a different area instead.
Overall a good rent!
Sorry Ann... the pastel DVD had to be one of the least informative for me out of all my rentals here. It moves so slow and there is no real continuity to the dialog. Jumping from one topic to the next with no real thought. you can tell there was no planning in this DVD, IMO. Might be good for a beginner but not good if you are interesting in painting landscapes in abstract. in fact she doesn't touch on the abstract aspect at all. Very disappointing in that regards.
The amount of information here is great. Highly recommended if you want to start painting/drawing portraits. Everything was outlined clearly and directions were great. 5 stars
I enjoyed the dvd if only for the host. Skills were good, info was ok.
Excellent!! If you are a beginner or intermediate artists I would say this DVD is essential to developing your abilities.

A lot of great info and commentary as you go through the DVD watching him developing the painting. A+
I guess that it is a gamble when being the first to rent a particular DVD. This one ended up being a waste of my time. Energetic host but overall, I didn't learn a thing.
Excellent DVD!!! Very good commentary and a great variety of plein air demos. Highly recommended.
