I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who truly wants to learn about filigree and doesn't care too much about a polished presentation. The artist was very meticulous in her step by step presentation and threw out tons of really good bench tips. The pieces shown made me want to start right away and I was glad to have the resource information included on the disc.
If you are interested in Russian filigree you'll want to rent this disc. Just ignore the fact that it looks like it was filmed in the artist's bedroom.
This was a very good DVD. The presenter obviously knew what she was doing. It was easy to understand and to follow the instructions.
This might be a good DVD for a beginner but I can't recommend it.
I have to admit that the first part of this DVD made me cringe as the presenter made several mistakes, BUT the second half had me enthralled and proved that the presenter obviously knew what he was doing and had a lot of information to impart. I would recommend this DVD.
This DVD is excellent. It doesn't assume that you know much and the descriptions of the processes were excellent. I highly recommend this DVD.
This movie was OK, but I'm not a knifemaker and some of the knifemaking terms went by me. The fileworking was excellent and the final product was incredible. I'd probably recommend this to someone who already knows about knifemaking, but other metalsmiths might not get much out of it.
For those working in oxy/acetylene this is an easy to understand DVD. The presenter made the work seem easy. It dwells quite a bit on very similar designs so it's fairly repetitive but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
This video is actually a taping of a couple TV shows and is very "crafty." This might be a good video for a rank beginner who isn't sure they want to fuse glass, but anyone who really wants to learn shouldn't get the information from this DVD.
