Fret Basics was a very worthwhile rental. It was as informative as I could've expected it to be, and was quite lengthy, i.e. good value IMHO. I may actually end up buying this one. We'll see. Thanks Smartflix, for providing the great service.

Smartflix provides a great service. I don't hold it against them that these videos are marginal at best. Very basic. Even in their incredibly stretched out design, they're still quite short in duration. I rented the first two DVD's, and can see why the 1st one had a lot more use showing on the disc; few who rented the first would move to the second. Sure, there's a little decent information on the DVD's but most of it's stretched out, and partially in promotion of other products offered by the company.

Bottom line: Far more sizzle offered than steak, and still not a lot, even when combined. I guess it's a course designed for "Profiting With Quartz Watch Repairs" that's geared to jeweler's stores rather than individuals seeking knowledge/training. However, even if I was a jeweler, I'd be disappointed in the depth of the content. Over the years, I've seen a few watch repair training videos, and they can be much better. Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
