I enjoyed this video. It was a good overview of pattern welded steel and I would recommend it to anyone who is not already familiar with the process. I can't say that I really learned much that was new to me but I got a kick out of watching what he did rather than what he was saying. All in all it isn't all that complicated a task and watching it all done with that press made me jealous. Certainly looks like the way to go if you can manage it.
I can't say that I was real impressed with this one. It was basic and didn't seem to provide much insight. I caught a couple bits of outright misinformation along with just plain opinion presented as gospel. If you have never done hollow grinding this is a good first look. Thats about it.
I watched this one right after watching a hollow grinding video. I found them to be very similarly structured. But while I didn't feel that I gained much from the other this was refreshingly laden with good information and tips that the rest of us could use.
Good demonstration and walk through. Entertaining and informative. There's a lot of ways to make a knife and this is just one but well worth the watch.
This video came as a DVD copy disk and that was about the professionalism of the video work too. It wasn't bad and it was a good chance to see people doing what I've been figuring out for myself for some time now. I don't think I really learned anything new from it but it's a good starting point for folks who are new to knifemaking.
