This is a very well done video. The artist is a master at his craft and successfully demonstrates all the steps in making one type of the Danish dagger. This is flint at its highest form , the best it would get before metal tools took over. This is not an easy method, in fact it takes over 20 hours of work to complete this stone dagger. The most interesting part is that in one step the dagger is polished using sandstone until it is smooth and then it is pressure flaked to complete it.
I was impressed, this is one of the better videos on threading. He doesn't get caught up in the math aspect of it but shows a real life way of threading. If your lathe has threading capabilities and you still can't thread after watching this then give up. I would recommend this to anyone that hasn't tried threading because they were scared theyed mess it up.
This is another great video by Jose. Even though this is about the 7x10 everything applies to the bigger lathes. Its easy to see what is happening on the smaller one. I would recommend this to anyone that has never used a lathe and wants to get started. Very good explanation in common easy to understand terms.
If you are into calculations and have to know every aspect of something before you want to try it then this is a great video. I would recommend Jose Rodriquez's "Threading on the Lathe" if you don't care about the math. It is clearer and easier to follow. That being said this is another great video by Rudy and you can learn everything about threading on the lathe from it.
