The DVD provides multiple views of a model from life. Showing the process from start to finish is a helpful, realistic lesson in learning to do the same. This skill is vital to learn, and this DVD is terrific at teaching it.
This is an educational slide show! Several examples of painting at several stages up to completion. With Richard's commentary, this was a surprisingly good find.
The secret squint video was more cute than informative. The balance of the slide presentation was very good. Richard's commentary was great and there were several examples of painting at various stages of progress, up to completion.
Raymond Kinsler is a terrific painter with a lot to teach. You need to ignore the fact that he talks almost non-stop during the presentation. You get two demos in one video so it's still very much worthwhile.
John Howard Sanden has a unique approach which is very structured and therefore reproducible. It is a terrific video and very much worth waiting for.
My opinion is that in this 3 DVD series, #2 is the one worth renting. The other two are overlapping information and I wouldn't recommend.
The video is excellent for it's complete rendering of the painting process. It barely skips over anything. The painting is terrific in it's own right. Highly recommended!!
