Wow,
That is quite the Mullet ! Seriously, this guy needs a haircut. All I could think about was lopping off the back of his salad.... Ever hear the expression; "You don't get a second chance to make a 'First Impression' ?
Ok well having said all that, I actually thought the guy was very talented, (regardless of his hair..) there's no doubt about that. The flame painting is exceptional and having done a few of them now, I realize just how difficult it is to produce a worthy piece of art !
This video gives you a pretty decent introduction to the art itself, but there is A LOT that is left out and no doubt some of it was on purpose. I can understand how one might 'think' you are the first to flame paint copper but that's just simply not true....
Anyway, not near enough time spent on safety (almost burns his shirt at one point) and no where near enough information regarding the tools / supplies uses and where to purchase them...
The biggest dissapointment for me was watching the artisan flame paint all these great colors but not telling the viewer HOW he gets to those colors and WHY those colors show up before others do... I suppose he wants to keep it a secret, unfortunately, that's not why I rented the VIDEO ! I was expecting to find out how to get through the half dozen colors or so, with an explanation of HOW it is done and which flame creates helps to create the colors and so forth and so on....
Finally, there needed to be more structure to this video. As far as instructional video's are concerned, this one needed less 'off the hip' and more 'read with your lips' in order to avoid the jumping around that occurs in this video.
I give it a 3 out of 5. Would have scored higher had they planned it a bit better, stayed on topic and explained 'how' the colors are achieved.
