This DVD gives a good, overview of the mill, operating techniques and basic tools needed to do any work.
Very good DVD! A must first step to learning a lathe if you aren't taking classes. The instructor is top notch and one of the best gunsmiths there is.
Far exceeded my expectations. It covers info that the other Armorer's courses don't. I was surprised to find it had barrel conversions, and build tips.
You must have some gunsmithing under your belt to get the full value from this video. It will go WAY over the head of a beginner. Lots of info and how to on v-block stock work.
Good overall video. It seemed rushed compared to the other Armorer's videos. It left out the removal and proper install of the barrel. If I didn't already know how, I would have been ticked off at this oversight. I did like the tips and tuning segment.
Very good video. Complete info and coverage. Covers some build stuff too.
Good coverage of problem identification and background info. A bit too overboard on machining though. It added an hour or more of machine work that personally I think was not needed. Some stuff could have been done by hand without all the setup time spent. A bit confusing on what he was actually trying to tell you until after he did it. Very good machinist but poor video instructor.....
Good video, high quality as to be expected. It fell a bit short compared to some of their videos. I would liked to have seen at least a little build info thrown in. I would like to have seen the trigger group taken all the way down. This video seemed a bit rushed for time. Still very much worth watching.
Good video. It had a good balance of tech, machine setup and how to in general. A good machining background is helpful.
Very interesting video method, everything was clear and well presented. I have worked with fiberglass a few times and this video blew me out of the water. A must see even if you aren't fixing a boat.
Bob did a good job on this one too. His humor, however, is still just a bit dry. Good coverage of both topics, video quality is pretty good. The colors show up good enough that you can follow along easily. I would liked to have seen a better coverage of where the different types of metals are used.
Horrible overall quality. It should be called "how to make an x-ray quality weld" on this web page because that's what the guy keeps saying the video is called. He repeats himself after the numerous pauses in taping, the video could be shortened to 15 minutes if he said it once and got on to the next topic. It ends with him making beads and nothing more, it just ends. It has basic info, but by the time you are finished watching it, you will be so sick of it that you forgot what he said. DO NOT RENT THIS!
Slow pace, good quality, good instructor. If you have no mill understanding at all, this is the place to start. It does drag on at times, but should give you an understanding of the basics and then some. If you are just trying to pick up extra info like I was, don't get this one. Also, it depends on if you are wanting a mini-mill or full size - IE: Bridgeport how-to-DVD. This one is really for the guy making little projects for a hobby - Radio Control, model trains etc.
It was not one of Rudy's best videos, I'm a little bummed. The info was good, but the video quality was not good enough to see most of the work he was doing. It stopped without showing how to do any of the other threads or internal threading. I think it's worth renting as an additional info source, but not if you can do a basic threading operation already.
Very professional, more of a company video though. I recommend it for anyone that has never seen a wheel before or touched one.
