I rented this because I am completely new to the knife building world and was hoping to learn different aspects of knife making. First off, the video really doesn't show you much. He talks about what he is about to do, ie. shaping the handle, polishing and in the next frame, it is done. For another example, he talks about putting JB Weld in the handle and says "Just let it drip in." Anybody that has used JB Weld knows it doesn't just 'drip in'. The next frame, it's done. This goes on all the way through the video. As a beginner, I would have liked to seen the entire process all the way through. What is used and why, explanations on how he polishes the parts and what is used to do it. I gave an extra star because it does show how a hidden tang is put together.
Pretty good video for people starting off. My only complaint is that the guy had his radio on in the shop; this makes it difficult to concentrate on what he is saying.
Outstanding video, very well thought out and full of great information for the beginner knife maker. A no brainer video to rent
