I rented the above DVD set and it was excellent for the basic do-it-yourself knife maker. Mr. Hayes presents the task at hand - plain and simple. He does not talk over your head with a lot of technical jargon that no one can understand - I apprieciate that. I have been interested in making knives for several years now..I have read a lot and seen a few videos but this one is outstanding. This one is a good set for the newbies. Its a keeper.
I felt this video was excellent from beginning to end. The blacksmith takes you from a piece of raw steel to a finished product in a fine fashion. Excellent product and the video was great too. This video will help keep the art of blacksmithing alive and tool making for a long time.
I felt each of these productions were excellent. A great story of how Mr Reeve started and followed through with production of his knives. This is not a how-to video although they do show you, Chris doing a little grinding and alot of the manufacturing that goes in to his products. Still both disks are well worth the dollars.

This is not a how-to video,but they show doing some grinding and a lot of the manufacturing processes that go in to making production knives. I felt both disks were high value for the money.
