If you're thinking about getting into model railroading, this is an excellent video. It shows you how to quickly and easily produce realistic scenery using the Woodland Scenics products, specifically the ones included in the Scenery Kit. The video is a bit dated and Woodland Scenics has since come out with full layout kits for N and HO scales that might be more desirable as a first-time project, but the techniques in this video are still pertinent.
If you already have a method that you're happy with, this video is of limited usefulness, as it strictly preaches the Woodland Scenics way.
This is an excellent video for creating complicated layouts using the Woodland Scenics Subterrain products. I would recommend it to newcomers to model railroading as well as more experienced model railroaders that are looking to go from flat layouts to layouts with elevation changes. At one point in the video, an example of a trackbed with varying grades along its path is presented. I found quite a bit of inspiration in that segment of the video as to how to lay the trackbed for a logging railroad that my wife and I are considering building.
This was an excellent video for a beginner. I really liked how the instructor was able to effectively teach the fundamentals without sounding condescending. The video gets my whole-hearted recommendation.
