The great thing about Simon Murray (at least in this DVD) is that he's really not that good. He has enthusiasm and a little imagination, but what he shows here is "Get out and do it!"

He had to start somewhere - so do we all. What Mr. Murray has in this disc is TIME, not talent. If you want to be an airbrush artist, you can accomplish what he does here.

In the world of Realistic Fire, this is the Bible. Techniques can be applied to Auto-Air paint as well.

Mike Learn has recognized an opportunity to cash-in, with sponsors, product placement, and ultimately DVD sales. That's fine, but he CAN'T teach. That should be the point here. To make things worse, the difficult-to-grasp-yet-SPED-THROUGH concepts on this DVD are broken up by some juvenile acting by Learn, Krash, and their bouyant model, who, I'm sorry, has a moustache.

Wizard is that rare combination of top-notch artisan who is perhaps an even better teacher! He is all business and he speaks a lot, yet says nothing that isn't necessary. The camera-work here is also fantastic. This video provides TONS of instruction for a few rental dollars. Excellent all-around!

Mickey Harris is the reigning champion of Worst Flame Video/Biggest Waste of Money. All you get in this DVD are long demos of Harris painting some high-profile autos, with blanket statements like - "take your tiiime...", "ya gotta have gun control..." and "...always sign your name" - THAT'S ALL. Lavallee, Fraser – these are the people who will teach you how to paint flames.

Cross-Eyed's laid back style of painting & narration really work here. This video MAY NOT be for beginners, but after learning airbrush fundamentals, it definitely should be one of the first 'technique' videos they rent.

Watching this DVD shows the difference between 'airbrush artist' and Vince Goodeve-'Custom Painter'. Vince doesn't try to showboat his (vast) art skills, instead he does what the video says: shows all of the PREPPING methods and scenarios you will run into painting a HD tank. Excellent.

Distractingly funny! The Painter is the Al Bundy of the custom world! This is more like a lesson in bad filmmaking: horrible camera-work, dogs walking around, the guy demonstrates airbrush techniques with no airbrush in his hand (just his finger), and judging from how he keeps looking at the left side of the screen, he is watching himself in the camera's viewfinder - so he filmed the whole thing himself!! And talk talk talk... are there any tips or info here that you can't learn anywhere else? Nooo...

Cross-Eyed can really convey verbally what he is doing visually - at the same time. This rare quality makes this a great DVD. Of the thousands of artists Airbrush Action mag. could've picked to do a skull video, Cross-Eyed was chosen for good reason. This MAY NOT be a beginner's DVD, but it is definitely a must-see.

This video is ALL BUSINESS. This is one of those rare DVDs (like many of Craig Fraser's) where the Instructor makes everything look so easy, you want to run out and paint right away! There's nothing here an amateur cannot grasp. It's sad that this painter has passed away because he was a fantastic teacher.
