Nice video for people who want to learn how to swim. Takes you from just getting comfortable with the water and progresses gradually.
Great video for experienced swimmers who want to improve their stroke. This video really shows how related the strokes really are. Great drills which really build on each other. For novice swimmers, Happy Laps is a better intial choice.
I found this video to be extremely helpful in the understanding of TTL. Will provided an overview and went into detail regarding all aspects of shooting in TTL. There were great tips on how to set up your camera, set up your flash, along with suggestions for particular models which work best. The examples were helpful and added a visual to go with the what was being presented. The segments are divided into short, concise pieces rather than one long presentation, so you can take a break and digest the information in between chapters. This video shows that TTL works, but within certain bounds. It tells you what these limits are and if followed should yield consistent results. I'm excited about trying the new techniques I just learned. For me, this was one of the most helpful instructional videos regarding photography.
I only watched Digital Portraiture 3 with Christopher Gray, based on another's review. Looking back, it was not a wise choice. Although the production quality was consistent with other shootsmarter.com titles, the content was lacking. Personally, I found the chapters were too short and provided just an overview. It lacked any detail, possibly assuming the viewers were already highly knowledgeable. I made the mistake of skipping disks one and two, where more detailed explanations are probably provided. The examples were mediocre and didn't provide an impactful image compared with the information being presented. Many times I had to pause the video to find the subtleties being discussed. I'd suggest watching the entire set.
