It's exactly what you think it is - DVD versions of the StewMac video tapes of Don McRostie teaching you how to assemble and carve the StewMac F5 kit.
DVD format is much preferable to the video tape medium because this instruction bears watching and then reviewing several times over the course of the actual build.
As an instructor Steve is great ... as an instructional DVD that teaches you how to improvise this DVD is not that great.
Basically Steve's advice is pretty simple ... "... learn 100+ fiddle tunes in 5 keys and use what you learned to figure out other tunes ... oh yeah .. and PRACTICE every day as long as the sun is shining ..."
Yeah that would eventually get you there I suppose .. but if you are looking for 'secrets or tricks or good ways to remember licks ... ' ... not on this DVD.
Bottom line ... learn a LOT of fiddle tunes in the C A G E D keys and practice until you don't have to think about them to play them ...
