This DVD runs 1 hour 45 minutes and is jam packed with tips and tricks and how-to’s. It is well paced and organized with options to watch the entire movie or jump to specific topics on the DVD. Each topic is introduced with an easy to read graphic and a showcase of Corina’s beads which demonstrate each technique. We are treated to several camera angles as she works, making it easy to see where her hands, bead, and stringer are placed relevant to the flame. Thanks to the zoomed in close-ups, the beads are larger than life, making it much easier to see the detail and the small fluctuations of her hands. The viewer is treated to positions normally not seen in a classroom setting. She carefully explains every move she makes, what she is doing and why. This DVD is great for the beginner lampwork bead maker, and inveterate bead makers can even pick up a few tricks. The eye candy alone is worth it for inspiration.
This is great for the beginning marble maker like me. It was easy to follow and well-paced. The DVD menu made it easy to jump from project to project or simply play all.
Corina Tettinger show-and-tells all the items in her glass studio. I like her frankness about whether she acutally used a certain tool or not. It was fascinating to me to see where everything is located relative to her torch, and which torches she uses. Corina also takes you to see her friend's glass studio, which is quite different from Corina's. As an added bonus, she shows how to make a triangle bead. I liked the video. It is a great reference if you're thinking about creating you're own glass work area.
