These videos are very thorough for teaching the basic techniques of playing the upright bass. It it not assumed that the viewer has any sort of prior knowledge, so even the very basics are covered. A beginner/intermediate player will deffinately benefit from these videos. There are many "intermediate" bass players I have heard who could benefit from these. This is a "must-have"! I watched this video with a friend and was totally amazed at the musicianship, technique and wisdom offered throughout! It is no secret that Victor and Carter are incredible on their instruments, but the golden message is during Victor's segment on how to be a "musician". Really listen and understand what he has to say. THIS is what people need to understand if they ever want to bring themselves to the level that many do not achieve. Only the top musicians really believe and understand what Victor describes. Know it, believe it and apply it...you'll get there!
